Merry Christmas!

It took an awful lot of work to track down everyone and get their gifts in order, but Steve's going to be running around the Nexus giving out presents to all of his friends. Or inviting them over to his apartment. Whatever works for them!

Steve told her when she was over for Jul's eve when Christmas was for certain, so she should be relatively easy to find to get her gifts, right?

She really needs to get a phone.

The nice thing about Amelia's current residence is that there's always someone who can point her friends in the direction of her room. Which is exactly what the large hen behind the front desk does when Steve arrives.

There's a small stack of dishes sitting outside the door to her room, which seems a bit odd. At least for someone like Amelia. But there's sounds of life inside, so Steve won't have to wait for answers. Or worry about trying to find her again.

He gives her door a good knock. Then once more for good measure.

"Amelia? It's Steve. Do you have a minute?"

Blaze and Ghost

Steve just saw the pair of robots the other day, hopefully they're still around the Nexus because Steve has things for both of them and he's not going to stop looking until he finds them!

They've been in and out of the Nexus, but the place is so busy at this time of year (with people and mysterious goings-on) that Ghost is claiming it deserves more attention than usual. Not to mention they need to catch up with all their friends.

Steve shouldn't have much trouble finding them: Blaze is plonked down on a stone bench in the forum, picking over the internals of a square-nosed fusion rifle. Ghost is hovering over her work, but he's quick to alert her at Steve's approach. She waves their friend over cheerfully. "Steve! How're you holding up?"

Steve's all bundled up--hat, gloves, sweatshirt-- but he waves eagerly over to Blaze and Ghost when he catches sight of them. The stone bench is going to be ignored. Steve is made of meat and he's cold enough without parking on the frozen bench too.

"I'm so glad you guys are both still here. I'm doing good!" He's all smiles, breath coming out in little frosty puffs of steam. "I was looking for the two of you, actually."

Clint

Steve had to call in a favor from Verity on this one so he could get the archer's phone number. He sends Clint a text with his Nexus address, and a note.

Hello! This is Steve. Uhm, Nexus-Steve, rather. I have a present for you for Christmas, if you want to come over for a bit?

Steve gets an answer before too long, in the form of a knock on the door. It's Clint, and he brought a six-pack of bottled microbrew beer. Geisterbrau, the label proclaims, with a Scooby Doo-style ghost menacing a sheaf of barley. "Hey."

It's Clint!

Steve answers the door with the knit (naalbound?) blanket Verity made him for Christmas wraped over his shoulders. The apartment's plenty warm, but Steve is enjoying being cozy. He drops it when he sees that it's Clint, and breaks out into a huge grin.

"Hi! Come on in, make yourself at home. I'll get some coffee on." He all but tugs the Avenger into the apartment. "I meant to invite you over sooner, but I got kind of tied up in commission work lately. Sorry eheh. Still, what better time than Christmas to catch up with folks?"

Elder Steve

This one is going to be tough. He doesn't have his own phone number, and the elder Steve really isn't in the nexus all that much.

But he has a job to do and he's not going to give up. So it's off to the parks district where the elder Rogers is usually seen.

Steve the Elder (or perhaps Steve the Later) can be found in the Parklands, seated on a bench and sketching the children playing in the snow.

"Hello Mr. Rogers!" Steve waves a gloved hand as he jogs over, breath coming out in big puffs when he stops, bending over to catch his breath. "Man--running--in the cold...Really takes a lot...out of you."

Whew, that was perhaps not his brightest move, but he was excited to see his counterpart here at all.

"I'm glad you're here. I thought, with Christmas and all, you'd be back in your world for sure."

Harrowheart

Steve is very glad that Verity gave Harrowheart a phone of his very own to play with too.

Steve texts him as he's on his way out to find people.

If you're free could you come to the Nexus please? I have a gift for you!

Harrow's text doesn't come quickly. It doesn't even come close to quickly. For a guy who lately has his phone in his hands it takes him a surprisingly long while to return that text.

A gift would be nice right now. I got one for you too but the real big one that's in the works is going to come late. Don't hold it against me man.

A few seconds later a second text follows.

Where the hell do you live??? I haven't seen your apartment yet. Tried to sniff you out but it wasn't as easy as I threatened it would be at the Samhain ball.

By the parks district, in the large brick building with the caryatids out front.I'll meet you outside and show you up?

Realizing that yeah, no, Harrow's never been to his place yet, Steve follows that text up with as precise directions as he can from the central forum. He also fills a thermos with soup to keep himself warm while he waits for his friend.

If you can't find it, I can meet you somewhere else too?

Matt Murdock

Just because Steve didn't tell Matt he got him a gift doesn't mean he didn't. because he totally did and Matt should have known better than to give Steve his contact info.

He does not text though. How would that even work? Does Miss Siri read his texts to him? Safer to call.

"Hello...Matt?"

"Steve, hello!" In a world of text messaging, emails and the like, a phone call is always preferred in Matt's book. He's honestly surprised.

Oh! Good, he answered.

"Hi, I wanted to know if you were busy? I know with the holidays and all it's kind of hectic. Do you have some time to go get a coffee today at all?"

Samus

It's totally kosher to give your teacher a gift, right? Steve texts Samus as he's on his way out of the apartment.

Could you please come to my apartment when you're free?

That's a totally innocent, not-dropping-gifts-on-you message, right?

[Of course.]

*If he's texting her as he's leaving, though, she may be waiting at his door for a while. She tends to be prompt when people ask her to be somewhere.*

Steve is grateful that he exchanged contact information with his landlord when he got his apartment. It's so much easier to get in touch with the magi.

Hello, Schon. If you're free could you please stop by? I have something for you.

Knew I missed one somewhere.

Ever a man of his (technical) word, Schön soon arrives, knocking at Steve's door politely.

Verity

Verity knows this is coming, but Steve doesn't assume she'll be free. He's careful to text her as soon as he's getting everything ready.

Verity? Is it okay if I stop by to see you today? I have your present for you.

She lives in the big crystal castle thing. How hard can it be to find?

Sure, whenever you like. I'm baking today so come hungry.

The tower is not hard to find at all. Even in the Nexus, it stands out, so he can get reasonably accurate 'go that way' directions if he needs help. Or he can ask her, that's the handy thing about texting.

Steve doesn't expect much from this one, but the gift is wrapped, and under the tiny tree he managed to carry into his apartment.

If he can track the soldier down, he has something for him.
