Jim greets them both by name, waving a little. He still doesn't know a lot about them but they seem pretty smart, and it's only polite to say hello.

A good run, a break to refuel, then using whatever energy's left to finish the workout in the warmth of Steve's apartment is probably the better way to go, even with the weather as comparatively mild as it is. Hell, just getting out and about is already helping out his mood, giving him more to do than stew in his own thoughts. "Maybe if I'm still standing when we're done, you can show me that takedown thing you told me about," he adds with a small grin. Sure, he may not be an unstoppable juggernaut or anything, but the thought of busting out surprise moves on his sparring partner is one that he's really looking forward to.
