"For now." She probably shouldn't have said that. It hurts so much more than she expected, to see that look on his face. There's an internal wrench, an ache she's only ever felt seeing how frightened Ghost was after their reunion. She reaches up to grip his arm gently, and if she limits herself to that it's because she can't decide whether she wants to pull him into a hug or beat the hell out of everything.

"I've been trying to stay focused. Not think about it. But I can't shake the idea it's coming again. I never remembered the reboots before. Now I can't stop."
