The panic is stating to rose again. The birds outside the windows are circling. The air inside is too cold. There's only enough food for a week and this place is horrible for a defensive home. Why must all this be happening now? Why couldn't she be home? Surely things would be better if she were there. If she were home, she could protect him better.
