When Steve hears the couch moving, he sighs slightly and continues working to heat them up some food. She has to fall asleep eventually, and he's pretty determined to try and get her to calm down enough for it.
The gift can wait.
"Here." He makes no mention of the moved furniture, handing her a soup bowl and spoon. "Chicken and wild rice. Eat up. It'll help you focus." And hopefully start to calm her down. If he can just ride this out, be calm for her, hopefully she should start to match him.
